Information Management Associates

A consultancy, training and research team

Information Management Associates is a consultancy, training and research team formed in 1991.

The main IMA focus is on library and information service provision and particularly on evaluating the impact of these services.

IMA operates in the public sector and concentrates on education, health, social care and cultural heritage (again focussing on libraries and information services, as well as museums and archives services).

IMA is providing independent consultancy support on impact assessment for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Libraries Initiative and the International Federation of Library Associations. They have acted in a similar role for the Global Impact Study (jointly funded by the International Development Research Centre and the Gates Foundation), IREX and the United Nations Development Programme in Bulgaria.

IMA has conducted consultancy and UK national research work for (inter alia) British Library, the National Health Service Executive, the National Foundation for Educational Research, the Universities’ Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC), the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, as well as for the former the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), the Department for Children, Schools and Families and Research Information Network.
