Self-evaluation Model

Resources for Primary School Libraries

New Users

From this section you can download the full booklet complete with a step by step guide to the use of the Self-evaluation Model, the descriptions of the six key questions and the possible scenarios for matching against your Library's current stage of development, explanations of the process of gathering your evidence and the tools and forms for recording your progress.

The intention is that the process of Self-evaluation of your school's library will be undertaken in a rolling programme in which you look at one key question at a time. While it is important to have the full booklet with the explanations for the first visit, you may find it easier in subsequent visits just to download the pages relating to specific key question. These files can be downloaded from the section Need a Key Question.

You can download Microsoft Word Viewer 97/2000 for viewing and printing "doc" files on early PC systems or those without a recent version of Microsoft Word. Alternatively, you can download the latest version of Adobe Reader for viewing and printing "pdf" files using almost any system on any type of computer.
